In a report from the
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
Chase Clowser, the 6-foot-8,
320-pound tackle from Keystone High School in LaGrange, Ohio, committed to the
Pitt Panthers on Thursday during an unofficial visit. Pitt was the first school
to offer a scholarship to Clowser, who impressed Panthers coaches while
participating in Walt Harris' skills camp in June.
Chase had been receiving
interest from Ohio State, Notre Dame, Boston College and Kentucky. He attended
camp at all four schools this summer, but often spoke highly about the Panthers,
Coach Harris and his staff.
Will Chase be the last top
line prospect from Ohio the Panthers get? Many fans from several schools are
looking at how the recruiting battle is shaping up with Chauncey Incarnato of
Dover High School also. Pittsburgh has been recruiting Ohio hard for the past
few years and the efforts are paying off with a program many feel is in the top
15 in the country.
