Thanks to Aiken head coach Kevin Higgins and all the Aiken players in
attendance led by senior Jermaine Burnett, close to 40 coaches got to see
Cincinnati’s finest high school basketball players get it on!
On this night freshmen through seniors participated in an open run at the
College Hill campus. Western Hills’
Steve Horton was the most impressive senior although others were very impressive
including his high school teammates Darnell Mackey and Jarrell Redden.
Other seniors to play impressively were Princeton’s Mark Dorris, Mason’s Carl
Richburg, Withrow’s Darrayl Payton and Tank Pearson, Finneytown’s Mark Hawkins,
LaSalle’s Justin Orr, and Wyoming’s Kevin Weybright.
While these seniors played well,
junior Matthew Pilgrim of Withrow stole the show. Pilgrim clearly established himself as
the number ONE junior in the city of Cincinnati, although his buddy and high
school teammate Chris Knight is not far behind.
A special thanks to Withrow coach
Steve Gentry for making sure all his kids were there to be seen by the three
dozen college plus coaches. Others
to make noise on this night included sophomores Adrian Graves, Brandon Russ, and
Chris Scott of Hughes, Josh Chichester of Lakota West, and Eddie Gray of
Taft!
