Just days after telling TheInsiders.com's Chris Pool his top five schools were Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Wisconsin and Boston College, Garfield Heights athlete Tony Howard pulled the plug on his recruiting.
The 6'0. 195 lbs running back/ defensive back , told his high school coach that Michigan State was the school for him. This makes Tony the third big recruit the Spartans and Coach John L. Smith have received from the Northeast part of the state.
Brian Hoyer of Cleveland St. Ignatius and Michael Bell of Shaker Heights have already told the MSU staff they will become Spartans when signing day comes in February. After missing a visit to East Lansing this past weekend, Howard will give the Spartans another big time athlete in this years recruiting class.
Last year Tony rushed for over 1,200 yards and scored 15 touchdowns, this season he has already surpassed those marks with over 1,400 yards and 19 touchdowns.
OhioPrepScene wishes Tony the best for the remainder of the 2003 season and in his college playing days.
