2003 DIVISION III ALL-OHIO TEAM

Our selections for the DIII OPS All-Ohio Team are posted. DIII saw many great performers during the 2003 season and we select the best. Not only was Division III the hardest to win a state title in 2003, it was by far the hardest to name an All-State Team also. But the numbers are in and we are proud to release the 2003 Division III OhioPrepScene.com All-Ohio Team.  The amount of press or recruiting doesn't come into play for the OPS All-Ohio Team.

OFFENSE

Linemen: This is were everything starts. Without these guys the QB's and RB's would have some realy issues.

1. Shawn Donaldson - Dover High School

2. D.J. Burris - Kenton High School

3. Chris Vermillion - Kettering Alter High School

4. John Long - Ravenna High School

5. Jim McCarthy - Cleveland Benedictine High School

Quarterbacks: The guys who make the calls and keep everyone on the same page.

1. Todd Lisowski - Dover High School

2. Grant Gregory - Athens High School

3. Mark Petruziello - Mentor Lake Catholic High School

4. Teddy Buehner - Germantown Valley View High School

Running backs: They get the hard yards and this was the hardest position to name.  Many more could have joined this group.

1. Nathan Clark - Newark Licking Valley High School

2. Raymond Williams - Cleveland Benedictine High School

3. Javon Ringer - Dayton Chaminade-Julienne High School

4. Brock Bolen - Germantown Valley View High School

5. Tyrell Sutton - Akron Hoban High School

Wide Receivers: The guys who make the catches and get more yards.

1. Dan McGarry - Poland Seminary High School

2. Dave Koval - Poland Seminary High School

3. Brad Goldsberry - Lima Shawnee High School

4. Tommy Petitt - Kenton High School

5. Ryan Patrick - Dayton Chaminade-Julienne High School

6. Zack Six - Miami Trace High School

Kicker: Like I always say, A good kicker is a must to win games.

1. Shawn O'Halloran - Poland Seminary High School

DEFENSE

Linemen: The guys who make piles for linebackers to clean up.

1. Ryan Redman - Newark Licking Valley High School

2. William Brody - Cleveland Benedictine High School

3. Kevin Randolph - Columbus DeSales High School

4. Nate Hollins - New Concord John Glenn High School

Linebackers: Make tackles and get noticed.

1. David Filippi - Dover High School

2. Joe Schaefer - Cleveland Benedictine High School

3. Joshua Bloomfield - Lima Shawnee High School

4. Dionte Johnson - Columbus Eastmoor Academey

Defensive Backs: Shut down receivers, make some tackles and get some picks.

1. Lamonte Nelms - Ravenna High School

2. Ronnie Smith - Columbus DeSales High School

3. Sirjo Welch - Columbus Beechcroft High School

4. Jon Huddleston - Cleveland Benedictine High School

5. Joe Cigas - Cleveland Benedictine High School

Punter: Field position is important to a defense, a good punter can give it to you.

1. Mark Wall - Delaware Buckeye Valley High School

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

This was a hard one to pick. While I would have liked to name only one, Division III saw several players I felt helped their teams the most. So we are honored to name three as OhioPrepScene.com Division III Offensive Players of The Year.

1. Javon Ringer - Dayton Chaminade-Julienne High School

2. Todd Lisowski - Dover High School

3. Raymond Williams - Cleveland Benedictine High School

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Just as on offense, Division III saw some great defensive play during the 2003 season. The final results saw two players share the honor.

1. Lamonte Nelms - Ravenna High School

2. David Filippi - Dover High School

COACH OF THE YEAR

OPS felt this honor of could have gone several different ways. We name two coaches for this honor in 2003. One saw his team have a perfect regular season, as the other won a state title.

1. Dan Ifft - Dover High School

2. Art Bortnick - Cleveland Benedictine High School
