Standout Glenoak Star to Big 10

Michigan State is quietly building up one of the strongest classes in a while. John L. Smith is really taking care of business in the state up north. MSU just landed another Ohio boy on their verbal committ list.

One of John L. Smith's strengths is his recruiting. He's always had some Ohio flavor to him and he's no different at Michigan State....if anything he's going into Ohio more.

The Spartans landed a verbal from their 7th Ohio prospect this week as Canton Glen Oak OL/DL/TE Nick Smith pledged his allegiance to John L & the Spartans. Smith, 6'6 260 lost a significant amount of weight in order to gain some extra quickness and athleticism. In doing this he has made himself much more versatile and much more appealing to college coaches.

Smith, an AP All-State 1st teamer, joins fellow Ohioans Nii Adji Oninku, Brian Hoyer, Tony Howard, Ron Stoops, Dan McGarry and Michael Bell on MSU's verbal list.
