TOLEDO ST. JOHN'S UPDATE FROM PALMS CLASSIC

Robert’s and Raymond All-Tournament as Toledo St John's represents but comes up just short in City of Palms Classic. OPS is working during the holiday to bring you the best prep coverage in Ohio.

Nationally ranked (#14) Lexington (Catholic) KY beat Toledo St. John’s 70-66 in the consolation game of the City of Palms Classic.  Lexington Catholic, a very well coached team, played a box-and-one on Brian Roberts all night and double-teamed him as he dribbled cross half court.

Even so, the Titans of St Johns had a chance down the stretch, but couldn’t get it done.  Junior B. J. Raymond bounced back from a so so third game with a 24-point performance.  St. John’s finished 4th, in what was considered the best holiday tournament in the country this year.

Brian Roberts and B. J. Raymond were named to the All-Tournament team.  Glenn “Big Baby” Davis was tournament MVP even though his team lost to Westchester (CA) in the championship game.  “Big Baby” scored 35 and grabbed 20 boards in a losing effort.
