C-J serves Troy first loss in Double OT

The Troy Trojans see their first loss of the season at the Play-by-Play in C-Bus.

Derrick Brown scored 26 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead Chaminade to victory over the previously undefeated Trojans. Chaminade led most of the way, however Troy hung close. Chaminade's 2-3 zone was able to hold Matt Terwilliger to 4 points in the first half. Shooting guard Michael Hall helped keep Troy in the game by shooting 5-8 from beyond the arc. He totaled 24 on the night. Chaminade answered with Ryan Patrick and Anthony Turner, who combined for 40 points, shooting 4-10 from beyond the arc. Patrick and Turner, however, were not enough as Troy tied the game at 60 to force overtime. Troy fed the ball to Matt Terwilliger and he went to work scoring 16 points in the second half. In overtime, both teams exchanged baskets. Derrick Brown got an and one, but was unable to convert the free throw. Chaminade was down two and was able to convert and tied the game at 68. Both teams had a chance to end the game, but both failed and a second overtime occurred. Chaminade shot 55 percent and outscored Troy 11 to 7 in double OT to seal the 79-75 victory. Derrick Brown and Michael Hall were both MVP of the game.

Canton Mckinley(11-0) cruised past Zanesville(4-6) 77-54. Korey Haddox led Zanesville with 16, and Raymar Morgan and Stan Hall scored 19 apiece to lead Mckinley.
