OTTAWA-GLANDORF ( 25 - 1 ) V.S. DOVER ( 22 - 3 )
I’m looking forward to this game. Ottawa-Glandorf has been the brides maid
the past few years, with LeBron being the bride. With The Chosen One gone, the
Titans look to take their place in the finals and must get by the Tornadoes to
accomplish the feat. It won’t be easy.
Led by two of the most under-rated players in Ohio, Eric and Tim Pollitz, the
Titans look prime for a championship. While the bulk of the scoring is done by
the brothers, the other members of the team work their parts to perfection.
Dover has become one of Ohio’s best athletic schools over the past few years.
With many top multi-athletes, the Tornadoes have used a balance scoring attack
to reach Columbus. Todd Liskowski and Jeremy Ady pace the team with
double-figure scoring.
As many know, OPS has done many stories about Dover athletes. While I would
love to see the Tornadoes advance, I must confess the Titans look to have a
slight advantage. Look for bench play to determine the winner of this one. Dover
will work to shut down one of the Pollitz brothers, if their successful, they
will advance to the final, if their not, the season will be over.
ADVANTAGE: EVEN

NORTHWEST ( 23 - 1 ) V.S. DAYTON CHAMINADE-JULIENNE ( 18 - 7
)
Don’t let a 18 - 7 record fool you. Chaminade-Julienne is a very good team
and will give Northwest fits. If C-J can stay out of foul trouble, I don’t see
the Indians being able to advance over the Eagles. Playing in the GCL has always
proven teams are tournament ready. Last season, Kettering Alter almost pulled
one out over LeBron and company. I like the athletic ability, and height
advantage CJ has over Northwest.
Northwest has balanced scoring from their main five. Led by senior Chuck
Samsa, the Indians like to have all of their players in the mix. The Indians
play great defense, and like to keep games in the 60’s on the scoreboard. They
will have their hands full with the taller Eagles.
Chaminade-Julienne has great size and athletic ability. With fast rising
junior Derrick Brown, the Eagles use both, guard play and inside height for an
advantage over most teams. The GCL also prepares any team to reach this stage of
the tournament, and CJ will be no different. The guard play of Patrick and Dees
is a key.
As I stated, If CJ stays out of foul trouble, I see them winning this game
and playing in the finals. I feel the speed the Eagles can play at also gives
them a big advantage. ADVANTAGE: DAYTON CHAMINADE-JULIENNE
