One of the players OPS talked about
early is seeing his work pay off. Todd Bowling moved from New York to
Valley View this past winter. Since then he's become a weight room rat and
is seeing great improvement in his body and skills.
At 6'2 and 225lbs. this Mike
linebacker is learning that Ohio football is a lot different than what he's used
to in New York. But Todd loves every minute of it.
Todd is projected to play at the
DI-AA or lower level during his college days. At this time Todd has talked
with The University of Dayton, Findlay and Ohio Dominican University. He's
also received many mailings in the past few months.
OPS spoke with Todd on how things
were going since the move.
OPS: How are things going at Valley
View?
Todd: Great! I have learned
that football here is different than what I played in New York. I'm
studying to learn the defensive system so I won't come in behind when practice
begins in August. I will be playing the Mike backer in this scheme, and
that's different than what my team ran in New York.
OPS: How's the work coming in the
weight room?
Todd: Since I came into the program
I have gained 20 pounds. My squat, bench and overall strength are up and I
feel I'm getting faster.
OPS: What have you heard from
colleges?
Todd: I received many mailings, and
have visited UD and Ohio Dominican. Findlay has also made contact with
me. I really like UD but the other programs have a lot going for them
also.
I want to thank Todd for taking the
time and speaking with us about how his transition is going at his new
school. Todd is one of many players you can read about from Ohio only on
OhioPrepScene.com Remember, OPS is here for all players to get exposure.
Not just ones that will play D-I.
