One of the best parts of
OhioPrepScene.com is the relationships we build with players, coaches and
families during the year. One player that I felt real high on about this time
last year is getting ready for that next step an athlete takes.
Evan Spanogians from Lakota West
High School and his family became friends of OPS during the recruiting process.
Today John Spanogians updated OPS on Evan's progress and how the springs gone
for the future South Carolina Gamecock offensive linemen.
The first thing Evan's father
informed us about is Evan's weight. Mr. Spanogians stated "Evan has slimed down
to 285 lbs. with a target weight of 275-280 lbs. for his June 4th arrival in
Columbia, South Carolina. Along with the weight loss he's increased his bench,
squat and his quickness has increased. At this time the coaches are talking
about Evan moving to center and feel he may be one of the incoming freshmen that
could see playing time this fall. Were planning on him red-shirting but Evan's
ready to do what the coaches want."
Mr. Spanogians also talked about
going to the spring game and the experience of SEC Football. "What a
difference!!! We went down for the spring game and when we walked into
William-Brice Stadium and looked up at the 87,000 seats it takes your breath
away. They had 29,000 turnout for the spring game this year. Looking back I do
think Evan made a great choice in South Carolina."
I would like to thank Mr.
Spanogians for keeping us updated on Evan. The staff of OPS wishes Evan the best
during his career in Columbia and look forward to seeing him take the
field.
