Recruiting takes some strange twist. It's our goal to give each prospect the
chance to tell us about their recruiting process so others may learn. This is
the case with our next prospect from Dayton Jefferson High School. Chris Mobley
is a hard working prospect looking for his chance to earn a college scholarship
this summer.
PROSPECT: CHRIS MOBLEY
SCHOOL: DAYTON JEFFERSON HS
POSITION: DEFENSIVE BACK
HEIGHT: 6'0
WEIGHT: 185 LBS.
40 TIME: 4.5-4.6
ACADEMICS
Chris is working hard in the classroom. At this time he's got a 2.6 in his
core course load and has scored a 20 on his ACT.
ONE-ON-ONE
OPS: What are you doing to help yourself work towards a
football scholarship?
CM: I've been working on my foot speed and 40 speed. I have
been working in the weight room real hard to build my legs up and I've been
watching a lot of film to see where I need to work harder at. I also been
working with my teammates to make sure we do all the work that's needed to have
a great season. We all want to be in the playoffs for the first time in history,
and Coach Moon started with us and we want to make sure we have a good season
for him. Everyone is working harder than we ever had before.
OPS: What work do you feel you need to do on your game?
CM: I need to work on my quickness. That's what I really
need to work on. In the past I would jam receivers and because I wasn't quick
enough they would get past me. So I'm working real hard on this part of my game
so I will be where I need to be.
OPS: Where have you camped? And what camps do you still have
ahead of you this summer?
CM: Ohio University so far. I'm looking at camping at
Indiana, Miami of Ohio and Eastern Michigan.
OPS: What schools have been sending letter to you at this
time?
CM: West Virginia, Ohio, Bowling Green, Eastern Kentucky,
Eastern Michigan, Louisville, Purdue, Notre Dame and basically all the MAC
schools. There are really too many to mention.
OPS: What else do you feel we should know about Chris
Mobley?
CM: I love football. I've been playing since I was 6 years
old and have played all the positions from offensive line to linebacker. I've
only played defensive back since high school and I'm adjusting very well. This
year I'm going to play more running back than in the past. I got a chance to
play there some last season and I'm looking forward to starting there this
year.
OPS: Thanks for your time today Chris.
CM: Thank you, you're welcome.
I also spoke with Coach Moon about Chris and he's very impressed with how
hard Chris has worked during the past year. Coach Moon spoke about how great a
kid Chris is and how this season Chris will be getting his feet wet playing
safety instead of corner.

COACH MOON OF JEFFERSON
Coach Moon also stated that Louisville, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan
and Ohio University have been showing interest in Chris.
