Chappel :"I've got great bump-and-run coverage and good press coverage too. I've also got good run support from the cornerback spot. I'm just working on staying focused on my technique and speed."
Coaches Comment: “From a football standpoint, Jovani doesn’t have the height colleges are looking for at corner, but he has everything else,” Maurice Douglass said. “He’ll be one of the best corners in the country. He’s tough; he’s smart, he knows the location of the receivers on the field and makes the defensive progressions. He has a great understanding of the game and is very physical. He’s worked out with me since he was in eighth grade."
Scouting Report:Chappel will be one of Ohio's top defensive back prospects in 2005. Drawing comparisons to Antoine Winfield. He has tremendous speed and is a fierce and physical hard hitter and sound tackler. Chappel has all the tools Good feet, hips and instincts. Received his first scholarship offer (Illinois) before his sophomore year.
